Counseling with Taylor

Hi, I’m Taylor — therapist, neurodivergent, and book worm.

I created Taylor Rogers Counseling because I wanted therapy to feel more reliable and relatable. I believe healing happens best in spaces where you can show up exactly as you are: messy thoughts, dark humor, overstimulation, and existential crises. I’m here to meet you where you are! You don’t have to perform wellness here. You just have to show up.

I am a generalist counselor (fancy way of saying I work with a wide variety of concerns). I have extensive experience supporting adult clients who are neurodivergent, exploring their identity and values, are members of the LGBTQIA+ community, are struggling with insomnia, and are processing grief and traumatic experiences. I also work well with clients experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, or adjusting to stressful experiences/life transitions.

My counseling approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Together, we’ll explore the values that matter most to you, strengthen your connection to the people and moments that make life feel important, and practice becoming more present instead of getting pulled entirely into difficult thoughts and feelings.

I utilize additional evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I also provide Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Inference-Based CBT for OCD, and CBT for insomnia.

Therapy is not about forcing positivity or “fixing” who you are, it’s about building the ability to stay connected to yourself and your values even when life feels hard or uncertain.

If you’re looking for a therapist who is compassionate, collaborative, authentic, and willing to sit with both the hard and hopeful parts of life with you — you’re in the right place.

About Me

I have always wanted to be a counselor. I genuinely enjoy this work and the unique people I get to meet and walk alongside. I graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2017 with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and began my career completing neuropsychological assessments at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. After two years, I felt ready to return to counseling full-time and spent the next five years working in university mental health.

During that time, I learned that I am neurodivergent myself, which deepened both my personal understanding and professional passion for supporting neurodivergent clients. While I work with a variety of concerns and experiences, helping neurodivergent individuals better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and build lives that align with their values has become a particularly meaningful part of my work.

In 2023, I transitioned into private practice full-time, and in 2025 I took the exciting step of opening Taylor Rogers Counseling.

Outside of counseling, I'm a mom (to one human and three cats), a big reader, a music lover, and someone who firmly believes in the power of a good nap and snack. I love fantasy and science fiction books, cozy routines, good coffee, and overanalyzing fictional characters as if they were real people. I also deeply appreciate humor as a coping skill and believe therapy doesn't have to feel overly clinical to be effective.

I believe that therapists should continue doing their own work. I attend therapy myself because taking care of my own well-being helps me show up as the most present, grounded, and effective therapist I can be for my clients.

At the end of the day, I'm a curious person who enjoys learning about what matters most to people and helping them build lives that feel authentic, meaningful, and connected.
